In this blog, we’re going to highlight two product areas where Pecora’s commitment and quality really shine: caulking & sealants and concrete deck coatings. These lines will be available immediately for pickup or delivery at all our stores.

Caulking & Sealants

For caulking & sealants we give you two of the best in the industry: Dynatrol I-XL Hybrid Sealant and the AC-20 +Silicone Acrylic Latex Caulking Compound.

The Dynatrol I-XL Hybrid Sealant is based on a unique hybrid STPU (silyl-terminated polyurethane) chemistry that allows for a low odor, non-staining, non- yellowing, one-part, moisture cure, gun grade, isocyanate free sealant. It has been developed specifically for sealing dynamic joints between dissimilar materials, of varying coefficients of expansion and contraction on both porous and non-porous surfaces. It cures to a low modulus rubber with extraordinary adhesion, capable of accommodating joint movement of ±50% of the original joint width. It does not yellow, crack or craze on long term exposure to UV light. It comes in a variety of colours. Uses include (but are not limited to):

• Exterior and interior caulking of door and window perimeters
• Expansion and control joints
• Coping and coping to facade joints
• Cornice and wash joints
• Pre-cast tilt-up panels
• EIFS and architectural panels
• Underside of precast planks
• Top of non-load bearing walls
• Fiber cement siding

The AC-20 +Silicone Acrylic Latex Caulking Compound is a pure acrylic latex sealant for general purpose interior and exterior caulking in architectural applications where nominal movement is anticipated. Formulated with the highest quality ingredients including a silicone additive for greater adhesion and weatherability, the AC-20 is completely compatible with premium-grade latex and oil paints and will not stain adjacent surfaces. The AC-20 has superb colour stability and resistance to ultraviolet rays, ozone and airborne contaminants. Also is compatible with polystyrene, polyurethane, cork, foamed and fibrous glass and gypsum board. Uses are (but not limited to):

• interior concrete joints
• hollow core ceiling and floor planks
• window and door frames
• vinyl, aluminum, steel and plywood siding
• Sheetrock, baseboards and bathroom and kitchen fixtures
• grout marble and ceramic tile
• repair mortar seams
• under controlled conditions, to bed insulated glass units and storm windows

Concrete Deck Coatings

The Pecora–Deck Traffic Coating Systems are designed to shield surfaces prone to wear from damage caused by vehicular and pedestrian traffic abrasion. They offer robust protection against the destructive forces of sun, water, temperature shifts, chlorides, and corrosive chemicals. For concrete surfaces, the Pecora-Deck Traffic Coatings Systems provide an added layer of protection from freeze-thaw damage and chloride induced corrosion. Where decks are elevated, these traffic coatings provide excellent waterproofing for the occupied space below. This ensures that your spaces remain dry and protected, regardless of what’s happening above.

800 Series

The Pecora Deck 800 Series is an elastomeric, one-part, polyurethane, cold-applied, liquid deck coating system. It is available in a variety of colours that incorporate non-skid aggregates to enhance performance and durability. Used to protect concrete and plywood wearing surfaces from vehicular and pedestrian traffic abrasion. In the case of concrete, protection from freeze-thaw damage and chloride induced corrosion with its destructive force on reinforcing steel. It has:

• Ability to produce virtually any colour in the field through the use of Pecora’s Deck-Pack system and colour matching services
• Easy application and no mixing in of curing agent
• The resilience to expansion and contraction of substrate 
• High adhesion, stress-relieving, crack bridging membrane 
• Been designed for demanding exterior applications 
• Ability to eliminate migratory water problems due to 100%

HB1100 Series

The Pecora-Deck HB1100-SA is a two component, self-leveling, fast curing, UV & weather resistant, integral aggregate, low VOC, waterproofing polyurethane traffic coating system for both exterior and interior applications exposed to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. The Pecora-Deck HB1100-SA is designed for people who want to open up to traffic as soon as possible. The time conscious contractor, condo boards that don’t want to inconvenience their condo owners and the condo owners who want to have the least amount of intrusion into their personal space. The HB1100 systems unique characteristics have a variety of benefits to both the contractor and their customers (condo boards, condo owners etc). Some of the benefits are quicker turnaround which allow sites to open up faster and happy homeowners because of fewer visits through their condo to access the balconies, parking garages open back up quicker (overall faster.) Used as a protective coating for steel, concrete, wood, and other traffic and non-traffic bearing horizontal surfaces. It is:

• An integral aggregate for pedestrian and vehicular applications
• A single coat application 
• A primerless adhesion
• UV & weather resistant
